Learn Why Social Media Will Become Your Biggest Ranking Factor in the Future

We've been saying for nearly two years now that if you want your website to rank well in the future on Google you have to start doing social media optimization now.  We have seen where Google has been heading for a while now and telling our clients that social media is going to become more and more important for them going forward.  Just three weeks ago Google's John Muller hinted that is the case when he said, "We use many signals.  Links aren't necessarily the most important thing on the web."

Google started using Google+ and other social sites some time ago to evaluate trust factors and other signals that they use to evaluate the value of a website.  Some studies have shown that social media now is a more important ranking factor than back links.  What we have found so far is that in most cases that is not the case but we have seen an evolution with Google were it becomes more and more obvious that the day will come that back links' value will be greatly diminished as a ranking factor.

One of the great things about social media is that when it is done well it can drive significant, quality traffic to a website, build your brand, build trust and become an excellent PR tool.  If you get the side benefit of your website showing up higher in search results that is an added bonus.

Often times we find that our clients find it overly time consuming or they don't have internal resources to take on social media campaigns.  Let us know what we can do to help.  For a relatively small expense you can start driving new business now and position yourself very well for the future.
